Mike has been with Pheifer since 1991.

He completed the Carpentry Apprenticeship program through the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development and the Associated Builders and Contractors.

Mike has been awarded the WisDOT structure of the year three times in his career with Pheifer!

In 2019 Mike was promoted to Shop Manager. He ensures safe and efficient shop operations and enhances shop procedures and systems to best serve field operations within budget constraints. He also works to design, implement, and enforce inventory tracking procedures; carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Pheifer's policies. Mike enjoys the different stresses and challenges this new role provides. “One of my favorite parts about Pheifer is it feels like a family.”

In Mike’s limited free time, he enjoys hanging out with family, hunting, horseback riding, and running his hobby farm of two dogs (soon to be four), three horses and two goats. Mike is an avid German Shepard dog lover.

Second only to Mike Pheifer in years of service, Rick has been with Pheifer since 1978. Rick not only keeps all of Pheifer’ s  equipment in top shape, but also serves as our finishing machine operator on all deck pours. Without Rick’s experience and dedication, jobsite mobilizations and general flow would not happen as seamlessly as they appear to when he is in charge.

In 2011 Rick became one of the first merit-shop operators in Wisconsin to secure Certified Crane Operator (CCO) status on lattice boom crawler cranes as recognized and accredited by the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) before joining the Local 139 Operators Union in 2013.

I really like how all of the owners of Pheifer Brothers have taken the time to get to know all of their employees, how they have always placed an importance on family. Many run a tight ship, but also liked to keep things fun.”

In Rick’s free time, you can find him fishing with his grandkids or bringing them to Pheifer to play around in the big equipment. When Rick retires, he plans to travel and spend more time outdoors.

Gurdy has been a staple at Pheifer for over 30 years as a carpenter. He honed those skills while building homes with his father, starting at the age of 8! For the last decade Gurdy has been our shop carpenter, doing all the behind the scenes work to support our field crews. “What I like most about working at Pheifer is that I can make my own schedule, being able to start on my own time. When I was in the field, I also enjoyed being able to work out of town.”

Gurdy enjoys fishing on the Wolf River with his wife and hunting in Wisconsin and Canada.

Clay started working at Pheifer Brothers in 2019 as a junior mechanic. He currently is pursuing a degree at FVTC as a Diesel Mechanic. He has his CDL and is also a certified welder here at Pheifer.

Clay grew up on a farm and enjoys hunting, snowmobiling, and 4-wheeling.
